Port Leucate

Port Leucate is on the D627 off of the A9/N9. It is a residential holiday village with a marina where in the summer months you can hire push bikes and boats. The marina is surrounded by lots of restaurants and gift shops. There is internet access available at the tourist information office. Practically all of the buildings are painted in various shades of yellow and orange so even if the sun fails to shine it still feels very cheerful. During the winter season there are a handful of restaurants and cafes still open as the area does have a number of permanent residents, mainly people of retirement age. This is a pretty stretch of the coast where it is possible to spend a pleasant day driving along to the other holiday villages such as Barcares, Canet plage which are all very similar to each other.
